Personality:

Joshua Bright is a kind and gentle person. He's smart, calm, composed, and seems to have an answer to many things that come his way. At the time, for 16 years old, he seemed overly mature, someone who had many redeeming traits and with his amber eyes and black locks of hair, also attracted many women. With his gentle personality, his ability to play the harmonica, and not to mention his ability to fight in battle, he seemed like the type of reliable person who was the jack of all trades. In fact, with his reliability, beauty, and kindness, one might be able to relate him to the moon. Not overpowering, but a light that shines through the night to help guide the gentle souls.

However, there's one thing about the moon that people tend to forget about. Without the sun, it cannot shine, and that's exactly the case in Joshua's life. That his kind and gentle personality is a result of his sun. And that without it, it's a lifeless, cold-hearted spy and assassin with no will of his own no no real reason to live.

That Joshua Bright cannot be Joshua Bright without the girl who brought his smile back.

There are three parts (and three names) to Joshua that make him who he is now. Joshua Astray, Black Fang, and Joshua Bright. All of them are names he goes by and all of them feel like different lives Joshua lived despite being so young.

Joshua was born Joshua Astray in a town called Hamel. There weren't many children, so he was always around his older sister Karin and their friend Loewe. Joshua described himself as a timid boy back then who was jealous of Loewe and Karin's relationship thinking they were perfect for each. He cared for them both and loved being around them, however an event shaped him and his personality permanently. A group attacked and raided his village and hearing the screams of his family, Karin and Loewe took him and started running. However, the attackers were ready for escapers and blocked their path while Loewe went back to secure their exit.

This event, watching his sister nearly get defiled, taking a gun, removing the safety and shooting a man. Expecting to die when instead his sister protected him. His sister dying in front of him and Loewe coming back too late to help them as Karin gave Joshua her harmonica. This event shaped him for the rest of his life. This all happened when he was six years old and it literally shattered his soul to the point he didn't eat, sleep, talk. All he did was play his harmonica.

However, a traveling magician came and said he could fix that shattered soul and that magician did, reshaping the once kind and young boy into that of a murderer, an assassin. This was the birth of the Ouroboros Enforcer Black Fang. Black Fang was a ruthless murderer who, like his namesake, bit from the shadows never to be seen. His skills were in stealth, and he was a fearless child who had tasks nearly every day to take out people he was tasked to do so. He took out innocents, those that were guilty, political leaders, people living their lives day to day doing nothing wrong. Black Fang thought nothing of it, only doing what he was told to do. Despite having his soul reborn, he was still a puppet, a soulless doll doing the will of the man who had given him new life. Black Fang was calculating, knew what conditions needed to happen to conduct the perfect assassination. Based on what is seen, he also conducted missions where one misstep would have cost him his life and he claims to have done those on a daily basis. Everything was about self-preservation, not being seen, and completing his task. As soon as his stealth wore off, he was worthless, which was why he could never be seen.

One day Black Fang was given an assassination target by the name of Cassius Bright. It was to be just another assassination like the ones he did before, however this time his target noticed him and took him down. Being seen by Cassius meant that he knew his life was over. There were witnesses, and therefore Ouroboros needed to rid of Black Fang. However, Cassius noticed this and went back to rescue Black Fang and instead of taking him down, Cassius did the unthinkable. He took Black Fang in as family, as his son.

And this is the birth of Joshua Bright.

Joshua Bright is a kind young man. He's talented in many ways, good with children, good at the harmonica, and almost eerily calm. As a good natured person, he's always thinking of others before him, however that doesn't make him a doormat, either. Capable of defending himself, he does what he can to get by with a smile. Also, he appears to be overly mature for his age as well as possesses an incredible amount of book and street smarts. Given his baby face on top of it, he is considered quite attractive and has women (and men) fawning over him.

However, everything mentioned above is thanks to one person. Estelle Bright. Given she was always trying to see him smile when he came home with eyes without light and no smile, he never knew how take that at first. She was different, always wanting to catch bugs, fish, go out and buy sneakers, but one thing was for sure. She always smiled, she never cried, and she wanted to ensure Joshua would be happy in her own tomboyish way. That affected Joshua in the sense that he immediately fell in love with her at a young age. Everything he ended up doing, every trait he gained as a Bright was for her. He gained street and book smarts (on top of everything he knew) to oppose her brawn. He gained the need to be nuturing and caring to help her when she constantly came back with bumps, bruises and strengths. He gained a calm outlook on situations to stop her when she just wanted to go in and beat the crap out of everything. His way of thinking ended up being so in tune to hers that he could stop her, many times, before she did something absolutely stupid. Not that Estelle is stupid, just Joshua knows how brash she can be.
